What is Healing Touch?

Healing Touch is a nurturing energy therapy. You may be thinking, "okay so what does that mean?"

Let me break it down for you!

Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing, heart-centered energy therapy that uses gentle, intentional touch that assists in balancing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Healing Touch is a collection of standardized, noninvasive techniques that clear, energize, and balance the human and environmental energy fields. Healing Touch assists in creating a coherent and balanced energy field, supporting one’s inherent ability to heal. It is safe for all ages and works in harmony with, is complementary to, and may be integrated with standard medical care.

As a Certified Healing Touch Practitioner, I am trained to work with energy in a safe and effective way.

When a client comes to receive Healing Touch the first session includes a longer intake portion in which we sit down, and I learn more about the individual. I will also be asking what the person is seeking through Healing Touch energy work. After the intake is complete, the client gets comfortable on a massage table, fully clothed. I will then play some music, or guided imagery, set intentions aloud and begin the energy work session. I perform an assessment of the person's energy field before placing my hands on their feet and beginning Healing Touch. Music is usually playing in the background.

Once the session has started, I will be placing gentle hands on the body, as well as using techniques in which the hands are off the body. Usually, about 15 minutes into the session clients report feeling very relaxed. When the energy work is complete, I will do a post assessment of the energy field. I will then facilitate grounding for the client.

The session ends with a debrief. We talk about any sensations or thoughts that came up. I will also be giving the client some "homework" to help facilitate their highest good in their daily life. I call this lifestyle alchemy work.

I think of Healing Touch as a massage for the Soul, and clients who come into my Healing Space are offering a place for their Soul to be heard.
